New Outdoor area for Vale Primary School

Vale Primary School in Guernsey is making great use of their new outdoor education area completed with the help of Geomarine this summer.

The area allows the teachers to ‘take the classroom outside’ providing pupils the opportunity to participate in a range of activities from music to bug-hunting to fire-making.

Geomarine staff worked with a team of volunteers led by incredibly enthusiastic teachers Emma Dorrian and Emma Bowen to breathe life into this previously disused area of the school.

We were pleased to help deliver their vision of transforming it into a place which now provides the children fun, interactive ways to access the curriculum in an open-air context.

The project included building a sand pit and other areas which encourage skills in problem solving, engineering, making and creativity while learning in a hands-on way about the natural environment.
