Eleven Geomarine managers in Jersey have just completed the four-day NEC accredited Project Managers course which includes a 4,000-word technical submission. The course is designed to equip delegates with skills necessary to manage a project under an NEC3 Contract. Geomarine’s clients have always benefited from a degree educated or chartered engineer being part of the team accountable for their project, this is now enhanced by it being administered by a fully accredited NEC Project Manager. The collaborative nature of the NEC contract goes to the heart of our team approach to project delivery.
Delegates from two client organisations also joined us on the training as our guests, further enhancing the cooperative elements.
The NEC contract should be used as collaborative tool to define, understand and deliver a whole range of competing interests and balance these against the need to deliver a high-quality project on time, to budget and to standard. Coupled with the legal and financial requirements to deliver a project correctly, this training programme fuses together the skills required of a project manager with those technical skills required by the NEC.
