Works commenced in November 2016. Logistics were challenging due to the severity of exposure to the elements, and all plant and material having to be transported to site by landing-craft. This could only be performed at certain levels of tide.

Beach works included the installation of a sheet-pile retaining wall, driven piling, a concrete beam and a 2m high gabion wall.

Rope access works included de-vegetation, regrading, drainage, netting installation and soil-nail installation. Over 700 soil-nails, totalling 4 kilometres, were installed using 500kg drilling rigs suspended from anchor supports.

The project showcased the specialisation and diversity of Geomarine’s capabilities, including rope access, drilling, marine operations, drainage and demolition.
