Situated on the west coast of Guernsey the works will provide the facility for 33 domestic properties, as well as the L’Eree Bay Hotel and adjacent public conveniences to connect to the Island’s main drain network. An intense 18 week programme has seen the construction of a new 8.00m metre deep pre cast concrete Foul Water Pumping Station, 770m of gravity sewers, 430m of HPPE pumping mains and 21 man holes.
These works have been laid within the headland and public highways incorporating sections of deep drainage up to 6.00 metres in depth. This deep drainage required the pre installation of 7.50 metre long clutch sheet piles along the coastal headland. The works have seen varied construction challenges from the removal of hard igneous rock within the Route Des Adams sections to running sands on sections of the headland trenching works.
