Waste Transfer Station Story Ends on a High

Geomarine and their partners at Wood recently handed over the keys for a fully operational Waste Transfer Station to an overjoyed client.

Gary Stevenson, Project Director said, “Geomarine and our friends at Wood are justifiably proud of finishing this high quality project ahead of time against a tight programme. The fact that the majority of our civils works were self-delivered is a fantastic endorsement of the skills available on-Island and within Geo. The local supply chain, including Group colleagues at AFM, were also a key factor in the successful completion of what was Geomarine’s largest contract to date.”

Geomarine and Wood engaged the client over an exacting planning and negotiation phase lasting a number of years. Relationships built within this pre-construction period ensured that a truly collaborative approach was a major driver during the 18 month programme of works on site.

The successful delivery of such a significant and highly visible component within Guernsey’s waste strategy was duly celebrated in an evening function attended by staff, operatives, suppliers, the client and key stakeholders.
