Geomarine is completing the 1st phase of refurbishing the 15 year old piles that restrain the pontoons at Jersey’s Elizabeth Marina. They are being cleaned underwater to remove marine growth/loose paintwork and being fitted with over 5 tons of new anodes, which have been designed to protect the piles for the next 15 years.
The works are being undertaken by Geomarine’s directly employed dive team, giving another example of our specialist capabilities to add to rope access and geotech. The team are working closely with Jersey Marinas to minimise any disruption to the many boat owners during another busy season.
To support these operations a new work boat "Geo Seahorse" and Dive platform / support pontoon "Geo Crapaud" has joined the marine fleet along with the 16m x 9m spud leg work barge the "Geo Lillie" which was constructed from the central support pontoon of the old Albert Pier Ro-Ro ramp.
