A New Chapter in our Relationship with Guernsey Water

Negotiated during lock down one, Geomarine commenced the Guernsey Water [potable water] Term Services Contract in June 2020.

Just over a year later, both companies have continued to work closely together delivering a smorgasbord of works including the ongoing replacement of the existing mains network, extension to the same, property connections and answering call-outs as and when required. 108 separate task orders have been issued & 61 call-outs completed to date.

Ever aware of the environment, Guernsey Water aim to supply the residents of the island with access to free drinking water when out and about whilst also encouraging the use of reusable water bottles. Within the TSC, Geo have installed a new drinking fountain in the heart of St Peter Port and a second at the KGV. This eco-friendly work-stream will continue.

Geomarine have had three different teams with multiple skills working almost continually on the TSC. Geo-owned plant has also been utilised extensively within the favoured self-delivery model.

Gary Stevenson, Operations [and Project] Director says, “The Client was keen for us to come out of lockdown running on this project and the team have certainly delivered.”

Marino Cabrelli is leading the project for Geo with assistance from Josh Tugby, Foremen Stephen Jamouneau, Foreman Russell Simon and Ganger David Doherty.
