Geomarine Jersey have gone offshore. Maitresse Ile is an uninhabited island at the Les Minquiers, 20km south of Jersey. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and, quite rightly, well protected from an environmental and planning perspective.
The sea-defence wall to the eastern side of the island is of dry stone wall construction and is failing. We were acknowledged as the preferred contractor to join the client’s team early in the process and assist in the design process.
The solution incorporates our experience in marine work and general civils. It involves predominantly precast elements stitched together and anchored/piled.
It was a source of pride to be recognised as the go-to professional and pragmatic engineering contractor, and showcases our design capabilities. A tangible example of world-class engineering locally.
