Geomarine has had the pleasure of working on the refurbishment of the Bathing Pools at La Vallette for the States of Guernsey. Over the winter period, works have focused on completing the Ladies Pool which opened to those members of the public brave enough to take a dip during the Easter weekend. A key component of the regeneration of the Ladies Pool was the completion of a new ramp to provide step-free access to the pool for Vive La Vallette.
Jonny Clark, Senior Engineer, who delivered the project alongside Contracts Manager Maarten Angenent said “The site has had its challenges for the project team to overcome, including being heavily constrained by the tide and difficult access due to the awkward level changes throughout the site. The work so far has been really well received by the public and that is a credit to the site team led by Jimmy Robinson.”
The works of Granite Le Pelley on the construction of the granite retaining wall, regeneration of the diving board platform and repointing of the pool coping stones were also much appreciated.
As we go to press, Geo will shift their focus to the adjacent Children's Pool with a target completion of early summer.
It has been a great project to be involved in and a fantastic opportunity for Geomarine to showcase our craftsmanship which all too often gets buried!
