Greve de Lecq

Greve de Lecq

When Guernsey’s 90kV electrical link developed a fault, known to be in the vicinity of the sub-sea to landside joint-bay at Greve De Lecq, Guernsey Electricity immediately engaged the consultancy and contracting capabilities of Geomarine Jersey. Temporary works, sensitive to the SSI (Site of Special Interest) of the location, and on-site support for specialist jointers were required. With the exact location and nature of the fault unknown, Guernsey Electricity needed a partner that could react to immediate and changing requirements as the details of the fault immerged.

Due to the requirement to co-ordinate and deliver in-house civil engineering solutions to the satisfaction of the Environment Department, including the requirement to return the area to as close to its original natural state as feasible, our ability to provide a Geologist, mastering in Environmental Science, as project manager was fundamental to the project’s success. Our pan-island presence was also of immense benefit to the client as we were able to coordinate collection and delivery of difficult to handle crucial specialist equipment stored in Guernsey with our Sarnian siblings.
