Geomarine are undertaking a programme of unique and challenging civils works on behalf of main contractor F Watson & Son to help create new leisure facilities at a property based within the walls of the 19th century Charlotte Battery in Fort George, St Peter Port.

The exacting scope includes a complex demolition phase, contiguous piling & anchoring support to the existing main house, extensive structural refurbishment of the existing tunnels below, underpinning, construction of a lift shaft and drainage together with a large swimming pool excavation.

A steel frame and precast concrete slab pool enclosure will follow the main structural works.

This project encompasses the full spectrum of civil engineering know-how offered by Geomarine which is being ably implemented by contracts manager Maarten Angenent and his team.

Elsewhere, Geomarine remain busy in Guernsey delivering projects successfully for a broad mix of States, utility, developer, private and main contractor organisations whilst continuing to develop pan-Island capability in partnership with Geomarine Jersey.
