A trio of Geo staff have represented the island in the recent hockey inter insulars. Geomarine veteran Becky McAllister was joined by recent starts Jonathan Clark and Jack Smart in donning the Guernsey green at Footes Lane.

The early pushback saw our very own Becky give Guernsey the lead before a relentless Jersey equalized. A herculean defensive effort allowed Guernsey to earn a draw at full time. Unfortunately given Jersey were the winners of the previous fixture, they retained the inter insular trophy.

Having both spent a number of years off island, Jonny and Jack were immediately slotted into a strong Guernsey men’s side. In their match, a well fought contest yielded a 4-4 draw which saw Guernsey retain the inter-insular trophy. 

Jonny was appreciative of the opportunity to fulfil the fixture this year. “After two years without competitive hockey for the island side it has been great to have the opportunity to face Jersey again. It was a fantastic, competitive match in front of a great crowd”.

A fantastic day was had at the hockey club with some high quality contests followed by light refreshments enjoyed by all parties. Both teams will be looking forward to the prospective away fixture in March 2022. Geomarine are immensely proud to support the personal interests of our staff and wish Becky, Jonny and Jack all the best in their sporting pursuits.
