Geomarine have successfully completed a sensitivestabilisation project for JP Mauger, and subsequent private client, on Beauport Battery.
Work to excavate and stabilise various rock faces to create additional area commenced in May 2016 and involved both rope access and drilling teams. Sequencing was complex for both H&S reasons and for JP’s build logistics. It included attendance on others excavation, our own excavation, and installation and testing of over 100 anchors, 300 dowels, 50 drainage holes and netting. Geomarine required multiple technical options to deal with the complexity, varying from utilising mechanical lifting of rigs to hand drilling for installation, and rope access for all testing.
A large 80 tonne boulder was safely removed by hand from a sensitive and difficult position, that being on the edge of a 15 m cliff with the clients house directly below.
